U.S. and state government leaders are working with public health officials to respond to a global outbreak of respiratory illnesses caused by a new coronavirus.

The following resources have been vetted by the National Pork Board and made available to connect our industry with the best information on the current situation, emergency planning tools, recommended control measures, and talking points.

The COVID-19 Vaccine: What Pork Producers Should Know

The COVID-19 vaccine is one tool in helping to slow the spread of the virus and end the pandemic. There are currently two COVID-19 vaccines available for use in the United States. Additional vaccines are currently in clinical trials and may be available soon.

Food and agriculture workers are recommended to be vaccinated with other essential workers as they are critical to ensuring food security. Contact your state pork association or state and local public health department to determine when you and your employees are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

NPB developed Eight Things Producers Should Know About the COVID-19 Vaccine in English and Spanish to answer questions from producers and their employees.
