There is a critical need for a unified approach to addressing misinformation in nutrition education. Beginning with emphasis on the significant impacts of misinformation on public health, this session will delve into identifying common sources of false information and recognizing and mitigating biases. Strategies for combatting misinformation will be discussed, with real-world case studies that will be analyzed to illustrate how misinformation spreads and the factors contributing to it. Additionally, the discussion will consider how the current age of communication impacts the next generation of nutrition professionals, emphasizing the need for ongoing collaboration and media literacy to effectively navigate and influence the information landscape.
